I first entered a dance class at the age of 3, and there have been very few days that have not featured dance in some capacity since I started!
As a child, I studied pretty much all styles of dance, from the usual Ballet, Tap and Modern to the more obscure disciplines such as Greek, American Clogging, even reaching the All England Semi-Finals with my Irish dance! I worked hard to complete all my major examinations and took part in at least 6 dance festivals (now called competitions) every year.
After my A Levels, I went to London to train at Italia Conti Theatre Arts School for 3 years, which was an amazing experience. When I finished, I realised that the competitive nature of the performing arts industry didn’t really suit my personality and I moved home to pursue my real love, teaching.
Whilst teaching for 12 years at St Brendan’s Sixth Form College, I passed my DDI and DDE in Tap Dance Instruction (my favourite style to dance!) and went on to complete an MSc in Dance Science. I came to BGS in 2019 and have loved every moment of working with such an amazingly talented group of students year after year. I have had the privilege of working with some fantastic teachers, but none more so than Miss Daisy, who has recently given me the opportunity of taking over Miss Daisy’s Dance Team whilst she goes on to start her family. I can’t wait to get started!
Miss Molly
I discovered my passion for dance at just 2 years old and have been dedicated to it ever since. I began competing from the age of 4 in solos, duets, trios and group dances, with one of my proudest achievements being winning the Can You Dance competition with my dance school.
I have performed in professional productions including The Wizard of Oz and Seussical the Musical at The Bristol Hippodrome, The Lion King at The Redgrave Theatre and Peter Pan at Bath Theatre Royal, as well as performing at the Bristol Harbour Festival.
I am fully qualified with my ISTD DDE (Diploma in Dance Education) and is trained in Ballet, Tap, Modern, Lyrical and Street Dance. I am passionate about inspiring the next generation, and I strive to create a positive, supportive and fun environment where every student can build confidence, develop their technique and reach their full potential while enjoying every step of their dance journey.
Miss Amy and Miss Chloe
We are identical twins from Bournemouth now living in Bristol who have been in competitive sports from the age of 6. We have competed in Gymnastics, Dance & Cheerleading as well as performed in shows around the UK.
We were elite gymnasts for 9 years, competing nationally & internationally.
Attended dance college where we studied many dance styles & graduated with distinctions. We also competed in Bristol best dance act & won 1st place.
We then started competitive cheerleading & attended the world championships in America 3 times.
We also had the opportunity to perform in the London Olympics, Strictly Come Dancing - children in need special & The X Factor finals live in Wembley arena where we performed as dancers & acrobats.
We can't wait to teach you all and see you all learn new skills.
Miss Georgie
I started dancing as a hobby when I was 5 years old and continued into professional training when I was 16.
I trained full time at Dance Academy South West for two years and then onto the Royal Academy of Dance where I gained my Teaching Qualifications.
I have had amazing opportunities to teach for some of the best dance schools in Bristol, giving my students some incredible performance opportunities and gaining amazing results in their exams.
I am truly passionate about dance and strive to share that passion with all of my students, creating a positive, supportive, and inspiring environment in which they can grow in confidence and ability.
I am excited for my teaching journey as part of Miss Daisy's Dance Team where I am sure many more amazing opportunities will arise for my new students.
Miss Clare
I am a qualified RAD Ballet & ISTD dance tutor & also I teach the progressive Ballet technique syllabus.
After Graduation, I enjoyed a career as a professional dancer internationally for over twelve years.
Upon returning to the UK, I embarked on a teaching career in a variety of settings such as Bristol Old Vic Theatre School where I have been senior dance tutor for over fifteen years & also at Bristol Conservatoire of Theatre Arts.
Along side this I have been coaching students in RAD Ballet & ISTD Modern & Tap both in classes & privately in different Dance schools across Bristol & North Somerset.
I love inspiring young students as they begin their dance journeys, by developing their individual skills & building their confidence. I am very excited to join the dance school & share my wealth of experience with my students.
Miss Edwina
I have been dancing since the age of 4 and began competing at the age of 7. Throughout my dance journey, I have competed in numerous competitions across the South West, regularly placing and qualifying for The All England Dance, as well as participating in galas and championships. I have been awarded the ‘Modern Award’ shield and a few other cups at Eisteddfods.
I trained with Bristol Russian Ballet School for 5 years and I have also trained with Miss Daisy for the past 5 years and am currently working towards my Advanced 2 Modern.
In addition to exams and competitions, I have performed in a variety of dance productions, including the lead role of Peter Pan in the BGS Dance production of Peter Pan. Alongside this, I am an associate at Edge Associates, an elite dance programme, receiving classes with West End dancers and choreographers, improving my stage presence and technique in various genres of dance.
I have been teaching younger pupils alongside Miss Daisy, developing my confidence, teaching style and classroom leadership. I am also a talented musician and have taught piano to children for many years, bringing an additional layer of musicality and creativity to my dance teaching.
This September, I will also be joining Bristol Grammar School as a Performing Arts Assistant, where I will deliver parts of the dance curriculum — expanding my teaching experience even further.
I look forward to sharing my passion for dance, helping dancers build confidence, develop strong technique and become the best dancers they can be.
Miss Izzy
Since the age of 2, I have been training in Ballet, Tap and Modern, and I haven’t stopped since! I have taken multidisciplinary workshops and classes, including but not limited to, Commercial, Irish, Jazz, Street and Contemporary. I have taken part in many competitions and performances throughout my dance journey so far, most memorably performing as Alice in Alice in Wonderland, as Captain Hook in Peter Pan and as Morticia in the Addams Family musical.
I was also awarded a Dance Scholarship at BGS when I was in Year 7 and have enjoyed taking on principle roles and responsibility to lead and motivate others. Amongst other offers, I have already secured my place at Performers College Essex to study a degree in Musical Theatre and Dance Performance next September, which I hope will lead me to a successful career in performing in the future!
My aim is to help inspire and motivate younger dancers to grow and experiment in a safe space in our classes. I have found a passion in teaching and have been teaching children to dance for 3 years as well as teaching Acro for Miss Daisy for the last 2 years, which I will be continuing this year. I am keen to continue to share my love of dance with younger dancers and can’t wait to meet and work with everyone!
